There are two Churches in Godstone, St Nicholas which is a Church of England Church and Godstone Baptist Church. More information about either of the churches can be found by following the appropriate link.
UPDATE Stage 2 of consultation on the draft Local Plan being produced by Tandridge District Council closed on the 30th December 2016. We now await publication of the comments received by the council in due course.
Godstone was known as Walchnestead and entered into the Doomsday Book. King Ethelred handed the land of Walchnestead to his daughter Goda. The Saxon word for ‘Hamlet’ is ‘ton’ so the Manor became ‘Goda’s Ton’ later translated to ‘Godstone’.
