Godstone Gardeners’ Club
The Godstone Gardeners Club is a club for gardening enthusiasts and anyone who just likes gardens or gardening living in, and around, the picturesque village of Godstone in Surrey. The club holds meetings on a monthly basis and offers trips, events and other activities throughout the year. For more information about the club, why not email membership@godstonegardeners.net
Founded in 1974, the Godstone Gardeners Club goes from strength to strength with a membership now of over 100. We meet every first Wednesday in each month in the White Hart Barn at 8.00pm
We have a guest speaker – different every month – on a variety of topics, followed by time for socializing over a cup of tea and biscuits.
Top drawer speakers have included Roy Lancaster, Tom Hart Dyke (of Lullingstone Castle fame), and such subjects as “Gardening without aches and pains” to “Up the garden Path” and “Gambling, Gardening and Exotica” – a very varied programme of interest to all who take pleasure in anything growing.
In the spring we have a “Daffodil Challenge” against our friends at Hurst Green Gardening Club, (click here for a link to their website), for displays of daffs and other spring flowers. In early summer or towards the end of summer hold our Flower and Vegetable Show, alternating each year to give differing challenges to our exhibitors. During the year we also have trips by coach to visit both private and well known gardens.
