Tennis Club

Tennis has been played in Godstone from early in the 20th Century and the Club was also formed in 1921, sharing a new pavilion with the Bowls Club.  Then, long trousers for the men and long skirts for the ladies were the order of the day.  All the tennis courts were of grass, the first hard court being laid only in 1960.  The Club is one of the very few in the country to retain grass courts.
